Meet the Artist: Carlene Holtz

Updated: Jan 9, 2023

Mother, entrepreneur and teacher melded together to make one extraordinary artist.

Carlene is a Chagrin Falls native and South Russell resident, a mother, artist, business owner, and current President of the Geauga Arts Council. Her works typically evoke a sense of reverence for the natural world through painting, sculpture and mixed media. Having previously owned and operated a landscape and garden design company, she now combines both art forms in her work. Visionary and founder of MC Art Studio, Carlene has been bringing the arts to her community since 1999 when she opened A Garden's Way Gallery in Burton. She has exhibited work in juried shows throughout Ohio, including the West Woods, the Russell Art Show, Fairmount Fine Arts Center, the Burton Art Show, and the Chagrin Valley Art Show. It is her dream to cultivate a space that welcomes artists to create, collaborate and share their artwork with the public.
