Meet the Artist: Cath Griffith

Capturing Color, light, and mood on canvas.

Cath Griffith is a local artist residing in Chesterland, Ohio. She has worked in many mediums over her 50 year art journey. 15 years were dedicated to sandblasted 3-d carving in glass. Many Murray Hill galleries showed and sold for her at the time. In the meantime, Cath has always painted as well as worked with oil, watercolor, and pastels. However in the past 25 years she has concentrated on acrylic as her medium of choice.

Although being a self-taught artist, she as attended many classes at the Cleveland Institute of Art (CIA), taken private lessons in portraits, airbrush, Valley Art Center (VAC), and many more. Juried shows and exhibitions where Cath's work has shown recently include The West Woods Gallery, Gates Mills Art shows, Burton Public Library, Chesterland Art Studio, The Lakeland Art Gallery, plus open air shows.

"I love being in natures beautiful environment. The inspiration is all round me, the way the light falls over an object producing different tones of color inspires me to capture that beauty."
