Rian Smit was born and raised in South Africa. He immigrated to North East Ohio in 2017 to be closer to his children. Since then he has picked up painting as a hobby. Other areas of interest include being on the water, cooking, and spending time with his miniature schnauzer Gizzie. Gizzie loves to watch him paint and provides him with creative inspiration. You may see his paintings displayed under the moniker, Rigi, the name Rigi is an homage to both Rian and Gizzie.
