Meet the Artist: Sandy Unrein

Art is my voice...

"I am retired from Nestle where I worked as a Package Design Manager. I earned my Fine Arts Degree from Ursuline College in 2008. It was there that I was taught to use my art as a voice. This photo is a soapstone carving entitled, 'Immigration Angel'. I also recently completed my first oil painting (have chemical allergies so was leery of oils in the past). The painting is of elephants we saw in travels to both South Africa and Thailand where we learned of their slaughters for their tusks. It takes me a while to finish a piece so I am not used to selling them, but happy to share their stories."
