Meet the Artist: Sharon Fedor

Updated: Nov 22, 2023

From forensic sketches to fine art.

Sharon and her husband Bruce have called Chesterland home for the last twenty years raising their four children. As a high school student in Euclid, Sharon enrolled in a two-year “Commercial Art” vocational program. This led to a position with the advertising department at Halle’s up until Cleveland’s nostalgic department store closed in 1982.

At eighteen Sharon entered into what would become a 31 year career as a Public Safety Dispatcher and Supervisor. Her love of drawing lead her to apply for training as a forensic artist. Her skills were utilized primarily for criminal composite sketches, and she was also trained in age progression and two-dimensional reconstruction.

Retiring in 2012, she explored several art interests but says “nothing can compare to the feeling I get while painting”. She works in acrylics and enjoys painting portraits of people, pets and wildlife.

Sharon is a member of the Geauga Arts Council and the Valley Art Center. Her work has been displayed at local juried shows… Geauga Parks, Valley Art Center, Gates Mills, Geauga Art Council and Stella’s Art Gallery. Earning an award or two along the way, the most meaningful was a “Peoples Choice” recognition of her painting titled “In His Hands”.
